Both a classic massage and a deep tissue massage can leave you feeling lighter and calmer — but they are not the same experience. Choosing the right one is mostly about how you want to feel when you walk out.
Classic (full body) massage: flowing and relaxing
A full body massage uses long, smooth strokes, gentle kneading and a medium pressure, usually with warm oil. It is designed to relax the whole body and calm the mind. If you are on holiday, new to massage, or simply want to unwind, this is the natural place to start. An anti-stress massage is similar, with an extra focus on soft, soothing rhythm.
Deep tissue massage: slower and more focused
Deep tissue massage is similar to classic massage, but the pressure is firmer and the movements slower, working into the deeper layers of muscle. Therapists spend more time on specific areas — typically the neck, shoulders, back and legs. Many people choose it when they feel stiff from carrying bags, long flights, desk work or an active holiday.
A simple way to decide
- Choose classic if you want to switch off, enjoy a gentle touch or have never had a massage before.
- Choose deep tissue if you like firm pressure and want attention on tight, specific areas.
- Not sure? A mix massage combines techniques in one session, and you can always ask your therapist to adjust the pressure.
Other options worth knowing
If you train regularly or are active on the island, a sports massage targets the muscles you use most. For a firmer treatment with a therapeutic focus, ask about our medical massage.
Tips for a better session
- Speak up about pressure — "a little softer" or "a little firmer" is always welcome.
- Drink water afterwards and take it easy for a while.
- Mention injuries, pregnancy or medical conditions before you start.
A massage is a wellness treatment, not a substitute for medical advice. If you have a specific health concern, speak with your doctor first.
