It is completely normal to feel a little unsure before your first massage. The good news: there is nothing you need to do except show up and relax. This quick guide answers the questions we hear most.
Before you arrive
- Arrive about 10 minutes early. Appointments begin promptly, and a late arrival can shorten your session.
- Skip a heavy meal. A light snack is fine; lying down comfortably is easier on an empty-ish stomach.
- Leave valuables behind. We recommend not wearing jewellery. The spa cannot accept responsibility for lost valuables.
- Silence your phone. Please switch off the ringer in the spa area.
Tell your therapist
Share anything that matters: injuries, sore spots, allergies to oils, pregnancy, high blood pressure or heart problems. We will customise the treatment whenever possible. Please note that facilities such as a sauna are not recommended for guests with skin problems, heart problems, high blood pressure, heat sensitivity or pregnancy.
During the massage
- You will be covered with towels, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.
- Feel free to give feedback on pressure at any time.
- Breathe slowly. Whether you chat or stay silent is entirely up to you.
Which treatment for a first time?
A full body massage or anti-stress massage is a gentle introduction. If you prefer a shorter session, try a 30-minute back massage or head massage.
After your massage
Drink some water and take your time getting up. Many guests feel pleasantly sleepy afterwards, so plan a slow evening.
